Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation
For new students
Tuesday 7:30pm – 9:00pm
A four week course, with handout, to introduce meditation techniques and fundamentals of Buddhism. This course runs four times per year. More information.
Buddhist Philosophy and Meditation
Suitable for beginners and intermediate students
Thursday 7:30pm – 9:00pm
This class is taught alternatively by Rod Lee and Nancy Carlisle. It includes meditation instruction and Buddhist philosophy from the Lam Rim text written by Venerable Geshe Archarya Thubten Loden.
Teachings by Venerable Chris Watkins
Suited to intermeditate students
Monday 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Venerable Chris Watkins is an Australian Buddhist monk who has lived and taught at the Centre since 1982. This class includes both meditation and Buddhist philosophy.
Teachings by Venerable Geshe Thubten Chöden
Wednesday 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Suited to intermediate- advanced students
Venerable Geshe Thubten Chöden is a Tibetan Buddhist monk who lives at the Centre. This is a Tibetan Buddhist philosophy class translated from Tibetan into English. It does not include a separate meditation session.
Vajrayana
Requires previously taken initiation
White Tara practice
1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, 1pm to 2pm
This class is taught by Venerable Chris Watkins.
Yamantaka and Vajrayogini
Saturday 3:00pm – 4:30pm
This class is taught by Venerable Chris Watkins.
Suggested donation is $15 per weekly class and $10 for each subsequent class in that same week. Students are also welcome to stay for a discussion and refreshments after each class.
